The work below is a sampling of some of our design and development projects.
We change the mix from time to time, adding new work, or highlighting solutions from our diverse customer base that we think other businesses might benefit from. Enjoy!
The Shoreline Wellness Center wanted to reach out to it's year-round customer base, and keep them informed about the latest even when they were on the go.
Located in a tourist town, the center also knew that mobile devices were becoming an increasing popular way for summer visitors to find them.
The design of the mobile site maintained the consistency of the Wellness Center's branding, made it fast and easy for customers to find the latest spin class, or healthy recipe.
The Last Resort Inn's old website was dated, but customers still appreciated how easy the site was to navigate, so when it was time for a re-design, simplicity and ease-of-use were very high priorities.
Monarch worked closely with the Artist-Innkeepers to develop a site that met their technical requirements, and from a visual perspective incorporated some of the inn's antique wallpaper into the site design.
Southridge Church had purchased template files from a reputable online retailer, but they needed help installing the design. Monarch worked with Southridge to not only install the design, but to customize it so that staff could easily upload content on their own.
In addition we gave the new site mobile functionality, and helped Southridge set up a new HTML email system.
When The Blueberry Store was preparing to launch their new Blueberry Soda, they approached Monarch to handle the design process.
Monarch presented four very different designs for consideration, and ultimately the vintage theme won the vote.
Elvis tribute artist, Steve Otto, needed a simple website where folks could learn more about his shows, and make contact with him.
Monarch's custom design incorporated a slideshow, and gave the ability for Steve to update the site with information about upcoming shows.
Using an 'expiring post' function, events automatically remove themselves from the site after the show time so that the site stays up-to-date with minimal effort.
Side by Side is a ministry that helps the spouses of medical residents (future doctors) grow in faith and adjust to life in a new city and stage of life.
Side by Side of Columbus, Ohio had been trying to supplement their website by creating content on a popular blogging platform. Unfortunately, it was difficult to link the two websites together, and help members stay up-to-date with the latest news.
Monarch created a custom design that replaced the 'too prissy' pink (that was the client's description...we don't judge), and gave them a website that had a built-in blog.
The William Deng Nhial Foundation, a non-profit working to help bring sustainable development to the southern Sudan, wanted a logo that visually communicated their identity.
Combining a higher quality version of the star from their original logo (you can hover over the logo to see the 'before' picture) with the exact RGB colors from the new Southern Sudanese flag, we helped them create a look that is consistent with their history and recognizable to the people of Southern Sudan.
Patriot's outdated website was in stark contrast to the quality of the services that they provide, so it was time for some online renovation.
Some websites need to evoke strong emotion, but if a person is in need of home restoration due to damage from fire, water, or mold, then just the opposite is required. Monarch intentionally created a design that uses colors that evoke feelings of peace and calm, yet still harmonized with the bold red and blue of the Patriot logo.
From a design perspective, we're also proud of the fact that we were able to create a graphic for 'mold' that didn't wreck the rest of the website. No small task!
In 2010 Monarch helped The Blueberry Store bolster it's online presence with a new e-commerce website, so when it came time for their 2011 Spring/Summer Catalog to be designed, The Blueberry Store knew that we were already familiar with their products, goals, and branding.
This familiarity meant that high quality design could be offered at a lower price, because there was less time required in the typical 'getting to know you' phase of a design project.
For this project, we combined quality stock imagery with our own photography for a one-of-a-kind look.
Hole in the Wall Paintball's previous website was dark, a challenge to read due to small and brightly colored text, and prone to mysteriously go off-line for days at a time.
Hole in the Wall approached Monarch to help them re-establish their online presence, and we created a professional website that is fun, easy-to-navigate with the use of a fixed-position menu bar, and contains graphics chosen to appeal to kids and parents alike.
Monarch also collected customer reviews to highlight the positive experiences and memories that Hole in the Wall makes possible.
Holy Trinity Anglican Church's website had served them well for a number of years, but had become dated, and was difficult for the members to maintain.
The new site needed to be easily updated by members of the church with various levels of computer skills.
It needed to have information for visitors, as well as be a place for members to connect and learn.
The chosen solution incorporates the simplicity of a blogging text editor, but uses PHP to draw the member-generated content into high quality design elements.
The result is an easy to update website, and one in which design elements are safe from accidental deletion.
Tackle Haven's previous online store was a burden to update and maintain, which meant that relatively few products were being offered.
Monarch offered an economical solution by taking a client-friendly third-party platform and customizing it to catch the attention (and wallet) of fishermen.
In addition, an email marketing system was built into the site to give Tackle Haven a professional response to their growing customer base.
Like many small businesses, Lee's marketing material (ie. website, brochures, decals, etc.) had been developed over a period of years, and when taken together lacked consistency in its branding.
Taking the orange color of their most prominent tow truck, Monarch created a simple and straightforward logo that was easily recognizable, and fit within their budget.
The Blueberry Store was stuck in an e-commerce system that was difficult for their staff to update, and hard for the customer to navigate.
Monarch helped The Blueberry Store with every step of the process as they migrated to a new e-commerce system. The benefits were immediate. Launching the site in time for the Christmas shopping season, the customers were impressed by the site's performance, and the productivity of the staff was increased by the ease with which the software handled the order and shipping processes.
Monarch also made sure that The Blueberry Store's YouTube channel was updated and matched the look and feel of the new website.
Ron Darling Building and Renovation needed new business cards. Though print media marketing is not a large part of Monarch's business portfolio we pride ourselves in helping our customers with all aspects of their marketing needs so that they can focus on growing their business.
The owner (Ron Darling) came to the Monarch office for a quick design session, and had his new business cards within a week.
